I rarely feel that any one established modality is sufficient to tend to a client's needs. I provide an eclectic style of bodywork that blends techniques from many existing theories. I operate on the idea that the human body is in a state of constant flux and the attention that its tissues need in any given area, at any given time, is just as metamorphic. Some of the techniques and theories frequently applied in my work are featured below, but this is by no means a comprehensive list.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. It is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy focuses on stimulating and releasing trigger points in your body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques in order to release your trigger points. This process can be somewhat uncomfortable at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

TMJ Release

Whether you notice yourself clenching your jaw, grinding your teeth, or you tend to wake up with headaches and tension around your neck and head, you will likely benefit from release of the many muscles related to movement of your jaw. A portion of your session will be performed while you are seated, to fully address the main soft tissue structures that cause pain and dysfunction in the joint. Related structures in the head and neck will be treated while you are in a more relaxed position to relieve other tension associated with TMJ Dysfunction.

Thai Massage

60 minutes: $100
90 minutes: $150
120 minutes: $200

Thai Massage is a uniquely grounding form of massage therapy that enhances the mind-body connection. This modality is also known as Thai Yoga Massage, as you are moved and stretched in a series of yoga-like postures. Thai massage is performed on a floor mat, you remain fully clothed and no oil is applied. A single Thai massage session can provide pain relief, increase mobility, and help you function more effectively at work and home.
